Mayan Hope is a non-profit organization that seeks to support underprivileged Guatemalans, and to provide them with brighter futures. The special education school provides free education to children and young adults with a variety of special needs ranging from Downs Syndrome and other cognitive delays, to deafness and physical handicaps.

Mayan Hope was cofounded in 2005 by Don Langley, who recognized that the special needs children of Nebaj were being overlooked by Guatemala's public school system. Today, the school helps nearly 30 students receive educations they would not otherwise have received, through the school's wonderful teachers (who are now supported by the public school system) and Mayan Hope's Board of Directors.
